The Relationship Lens

Seeing each other clearly. Choosing how to be together

There are times in a relationship when nothing is “wrong” — and yet things feel harder than they need to be.

The Relationship Lens is a private, guided couples retreat that offers you the space, structure, and perspective to understand what’s been happening between you — and to discover new, kinder ways of being together.

Grounded in neuroscience and relationship systems thinking, this experience helps couples step out of blame and confusion and into clarity, choice, and connection.

Is this for you?

This retreat is designed for couples who:

  • care deeply about their relationship and want to invest in it

  • feel stuck in familiar patterns, even though there is love and goodwill

  • want understanding and practical tools, not therapy or advice

  • value privacy, reflection, and thoughtful conversation

  • are open to seeing themselves — and each other — through a new lens

You don’t need to be in crisis to attend.
You do need a willingness to be curious and honest with each other.

This retreat may not be suitable if your relationship is currently in acute crisis or where emotional or physical safety is a concern.

What Makes this experience different?

The Relationship Lens is intentionally different from many couples offerings.

This is not couples therapy.
You won’t be asked to analyse your past or perform vulnerability in front of others.

This is not a group sharing workshop.
Most of the work happens privately between you and your partner.

This is not a lecture or training course.
There is just enough theory to help things make sense — and then you apply it immediately, together.

What it is:

  • A structured, guided experience that respects your autonomy

  • Practical exercises you do only with your partner

  • Clear, compassionate explanations of how the brain and relationship systems work

  • A calm, spacious environment designed to support insight and integration

The retreat takes place over two nights and one and a half days in a beautiful, retreat-style venue.

Across the guided sessions, you’ll move through a gentle rhythm of:

  • short, accessible insights

  • private partner conversations

  • reflection and integration time

There is very little group discussion.
No pressure to share personal details publicly.

Outside of the guided sessions, you’ll have time to:

  • rest

  • enjoy the venue

  • share meals

  • walk, swim, or simply be together

Many couples find that this combination — insight and rest — is what allows real change to settle.

Couples often leave with:

  • a clearer understanding of why things have felt difficult

  • new language for what happens when emotions run high

  • greater compassion for themselves and each other

  • fewer assumptions and less blame

  • a sense of being back on the same team

  • practical ways to approach conversations differently

  • one or two clear choices for how they want to move forward together

Nothing is forced.
Nothing is “fixed.”
But things often feel lighter, clearer, and more possible.

The retreat is informed by two complementary perspectives:

Neuroscience — understanding how the brain responds to safety, threat, emotion, and connection, and how this affects our ability to listen, think, and choose.

Relationship systems coaching — seeing the relationship itself as something you care for together, rather than something to blame each other for.

The approach is practical, evidence-informed, and deeply human.
It’s designed to work with how people actually function — not against it.

Waking Up 2 Wellness was created to support people in understanding themselves and their relationships with more clarity, compassion, and choice.

My work brings together neuroscience, relationship systems coaching, and a deep respect for people’s lived experience. I don’t tell couples how to be together — I create the conditions for them to see more clearly and choose what matters to them.

I hold this work with care, structure, and warmth, and with a strong belief in people’s capacity to grow when they feel safe and understood.

If this feels like the right time to invest in your relationship — not because something is broken, but because it matters — you’re warmly invited to register your interest.

You’ll receive details about upcoming dates, venues, and next steps.

You don’t need to wait until things fall apart to care for your relationship.
Sometimes, a new lens is enough.
