What fear is immobilising you?

If you can’t pronounce Sproetjies, then you won't know that it's the
Afrikaans word for freckles. This symbolises
beliefs/mindsets/strongholds that exist/ed in my life. We all have
these and pick them up from our parents, our environment and our
experiences as we journey through life. These beliefs either serve us
or immobilise us. God designed me with a face of freckles as a little
girl and that’s part of what shaped me.
In fact, starting Sproetjies took me freaking forever! I've been
yakking into my friends ears for about 2 years about wanting to get
something off the ground. What held me back? In a nutshell, I realised
it was me and all my binding thoughts and fears! I made a new excuse
for each step forward or allowed myself to focus on distractions!
I would question the value of my offering, the need for further study,
the ability to do this, what about a secure income, you name it, I
probably thought it!
However the Lord was gently leading and nudging me, never forsaking me
and the dream. Guiding me through each breakthrough, slowly allowing
me to feel empowered and confident. (Godfident)
The miracle of Sproetjies came about just recently after listening to
some great podcasts from Craig Groeschel and Lewis Howes (Q&A with
Lewis Howes: The Greatness Mindset). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbBCdZoAyWs
They spoke about tackling fears. I've done some work of forgiving a few years
back, but knew I needed to dig deeper as I couldn’t articulate the specific fear.
I have an embedded daily routine of praying, journaling and diving
deeper into scripture. (I plan to share all my tips and apps with you
as we journey). I took these questions to the Lord in prayer and spent
time reflecting. It was Easter and the vibrations were next level!
I thought about my Dad. An amazing and loving father. He is great at
pointing out every potential risk of future actions. This has been
valuable and his advice has served me very well. However years of risk
aversion programming may just be the reason for my reluctance! Ta da -
I had my lightbulb moment! Duh!
Almost in parallel, I looked up into the sky, early in the morning and
was utterly blown away by the awesomeness of our Lord and his creation
and I felt a release/ opening/ freeing. And that was it. God helped me
feel ready. Just do it in spite of my excuses!
This morning I began a reading plan on my beloved YouVersion Bible app
"Facing the giant of fear". It spoke of how fear convinces us to put
safety and control first. This is the opposite of us walking in faith
and trust, stopping us from doing things we should do.
In this blog I'll share experiences of my faith and life journey as a
mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend and employee. I'll share how God guided
me and encouraged me, sharing tips, tools, links with the word of God
as my foundation.
If you are feeling alone or at a standstill in your faith walk, I
would love to walk alongside you in your journey. If we happen to have
similar life experiences, I want you to know you are not alone, and
encourage you to push through. This page will provide an opportunity to connect in with a link minded community for deeper sharing and support.
So let me know in the comments what fear you think is immobilising you
and remember the bible is full of the instruction to 'fear not', 'do
not be afraid', and 'take courage'.
God Bless

Hallo! Thanks for sharing this and not being vulnerable, but having the courage to share! FEAR is a huge topic in my life as I had to overcome so many. Currently, I am not struggling with a specific fear (I am aware of) and praise the Lord for helping me overcome many. My first step was always to acknowledge that I fear something. You can’t overcome it if you don’t KNOW about it
